Johor suggests hourly KTM service to Singapore


The state government wants Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) to increase its service across the Causeway to hourly trips, as an alternative for commuters burdened by new toll fares at the Singapore checkpoint.

State Domestic Trade, Consumerism and Tourism committee chairman Datuk Tee Siew Kiong said this would also give Malaysians driving into the island republic daily for work a chance to switch to public transport.

Pengkalan Kubor by-election: It’s a three-way contest

The Pengkalan Kubor by-election will see a three-way contest between Barisan Nasional’s Mat Razi Mat Ail, PAS’ Wan Rosdi Wan Ibrahim and Independent candidate Izat Bukhary Ismail Bukhary.

The nomination of candidates closed at 10am Saturday following an announcement by Returning Officer Muhammad Sobri Ramli. All three nominations were accepted, he announced.
